frankyfusion Such a good example of the magical, ethereal music produced by the Key sisters. Looking forward to having more from them on Bandcamp.

about

Sunrise was written during the uncertainty of lockdown and was written as an anthem of hope and a reminder to look to new and beautiful things ahead and hold onto what/who is constant in our lives. It's also reflective of a personal journey Beth was going through at the time, and as much of a reminder to herself as it is to everyone who listens to stay hope-filled.

lyrics

If I paint our future
Should I blur the colour
Do I make it bright
fade out the light
And blunt the rivers

Can we taste the water
Will we feel the summer
Does a cold wind blow
On the time that stole
our free desire

You may miss the world
we knew, we live and learn
to seek the warmth in days to come

Sunrise, Sunrise
I’ve been restless for life
We’ve been waiting for some time
Sunrise, Sunrise
Oh we wait for sunlight
We’ve been waiting for some time

A work of progress
It may look like darkness
The fear of night
But the stars ignite
a bittersweetness

Like a memory
Like a dream I’m seeing
A glimpse of more
Like i’ve known before
and I crave the feeling

Fix your gaze
On new horizons
hold your hands out, feel it reach down
hopeless words won't be your song
surrender all and look what's beyond

Beyond beyond

Sunrise, sunrise
how I love your warm light
even in the depth of night
Sunrise, sunrise
you're the hope in this fight
oh you make me come alive
